One of my co-workers just stopped by to let me know of her daughter's
problems.

She is a single mom, working hard to get off Welfare. She was working as a
cashier in a gas station, and was told to stop pumping, as her baby is
"already" 5 months old. She refused, so they reduced her hours to two
4-hour days per week. Needless to say, she can't live on those earnings...

I gave her the AAP recommendations and the WBW from '98 information on the
reasons for employers to encourage breastfeeding, to see if she can work
with them and get to some sort of positive understanding.

However, I wonder if this could be a legal battle? But who would pay the
lawyers? Would it be of any benefit to her?
