Catherine Watson Genna wrote, "Someone posted to lactnet the results of
their study on partly used bottles of ebm a few years ago. Her results
showed no increase in bacterial growth after 24 hours in the refrigerator
after baby drank
from the bottle of previously frozen breast milk."

Maybe this is the one you were thinking of?

Rachel Brusseau 1998, Analysis of refrigerated human milk following infant
feeding (unpublished study).

Rachel found that refrigerated milk could be warmed in a bottle, some of it
fed to the baby, and then it could be re-refrigerated for another 48 hours
and used again, and the level of bacteria in the milk increased only
slightly. A study of 10 babies. All of them were fine!
