Hi - I'm working w/a mom w/symptoms of yeast: "burning, stabbing during
and between feeds" - ob reluctant to prescribe diflucan and so ordered a
breast milk culture - results after 48 hours came back: 2+ skin flora
(stapylococcus epidermidis/diphtheroids); 1+ serratia liquefaciens. No
yeast seen. My question: how long should a culture be grown to truly
say NO YEAST, and is it appropriate for her to be placed on diclox for
this skin flora? He did put her on 250 mg diclox 4x/day. thanks!
