A mom called me yesterday because she has an infection in one breast. Her
doctor prescribed antibiotics and told her not to nurse on that side for 1
week. She can pump and dump the milk if she wants.

The mom says that "pussier" milk is being excreted from the effected side.
She (and doctor) feel this would harm infant (about 6 months old).

I know many, many moms that have had infections and have nursed right through
them. Would there really be a reason not to nurse on the one side? The
meds.are certainly going to both sides!

Thanks,
Annette
