Can anyone point me towards research evidence for the standard
recommendation, when treating suspected candida infection on the
nipples, of a 400mg loading dose of fluconazole followed by a daily
dose of 100mg for 1-2 weeks?

I am familiar with Dr. Jack Newman's candida protocol. What I'm
looking for is research evidence that a mother might use in discussing
treatment options with a skeptical healthcare provider. I've tried to
search the LACTNET archives and (briefly) PubMed. Thanks in advance
for any suggestions.
