Those individuals working with hypoglycemia protocols should be aware that
any questionably low accucheck should be confirmed with a blood glucose
level.  Accucheks are notoriously inaccurate at the lower glucose levels
(they do much better with the elevated levels seen in diabetics).  When the
Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine wrote its hypoglycemia protocol, the
decision tree was based on blood glucose levels, not accuchecks, for this
reason.
