From the Norwegian state broadcasting network, this is a report about a
Danish survey which found that eighty percent of Danish men, but only
seventy-four percent of women, approved of mothers breastfeeding in
restaurants. The only theory mentioned as to why this is so, seemed silly
to me: a shift in men's role, making them more responible and aware of how
difficult it is to have small children, and the need for women to get out of
the house so they don't just sit home staring at the walls. Maybe so, but
why should women be any less aware of such a need? I think it is more
complicated. Women who have had a miserable experience of breastfeeding are
probably less enthusiastic about seeing someone doing it effortlessly in a
restaurant - or maybe the men are just more interested in the view?

Anyway, the picture is the typical illustration photo for such a story here,
although the baby's age and clothing makes me think the picture was taken on
a maternity ward.
