I have been looking for information on the radiopharmaceutical given at they
facility where I work for moms having a gall bladder series. I have looked
at the Hale reference and the website suggested but can not find this
particular radiopharnaceutical. The nuclear medicine department here
recommends 48 hours of pump and dump. Is this the same as any of the other
radioph. on the chart in Hale? We use the Tc99m MAG3 for renal and that is
listed but the Mebrofenin is not. The only info I could find was under
Choletec kit, info from the pharmaceutical company itself and it does list a
recommended interrupt time.

In fact on the site it specifically recommends, and I quote. "Technetium Tc
99m is excreted in human milk during lactation. Therefore formula feedings
should be substituted for breast feedings"
http://www.nuclearonline.org/PI/Bracco%20mebrofenin%20doc.pdf No
recommendation about pumping in advance, length of time to interrupt
breastfeeding, or .... well you all understand my point and my frustration.
