Laurie,

Have any of these questions been asked?

Why would an allergy only effect the baby's rectum? Why not the small
intestine? Wouldn't that have caused some digestive symptoms? A long as
elimination diets are concerned, have corn and corn products been deleted
from mom's diet for a trial? Why would some allergy skin testing "at this
age" by an allergy specialist rather than guessing by the pediatrician be
so ineffective?

Is the stool yellow? If it is at all still greenish tinged from passing
through quickly (higher lactose load?), could the digestive enzymes be
working on the endpoint mucosa? It certainly does a number on adults with
diarrhea at times.

Would the trade-off of first seeking an opinion from a pediatric
gastroenterologist and possibly subjecting the baby to a colonoscopy
better than interrupting the breastfeeding and even temporarily taking
the benefits of breast milk away from the baby in favor of
experimentation with even the best-hyped artificial hypoallerginic
concoction, which may or may not work?

And horrible to contemplate as it seems, has this baby been constantly
under mother's supervision? Is there any remote possibility of sexual
abuse at any time since birth?

Just thoughts that came into my mind.
