Hello, wise ones.  I am trying to help my sister, who had a baby on 6/19 and is still having excruciating pain with nursing.  We have tried lanolin & hydrogel dressings, but her nipples are still cracked and bleed.  Latching on, everything looks wonderful (mouth is open wide, lips are flanged, you can hear & see swallowing), but she says it feels like his tongue is scraping her breast.  When she takes him off the breast, her nipples are shaped like a tube of lipstick, so there is obviously a problem with the way he is sucking.  His weight gain is wonderful, though--he was 7-7 at birth and was 8-3 on Wednesday (day 9).  What suggestions do you have to correct this problem?
