I did eliminate during the third trimester for my second baby, but after
such an incredible fasting for so long w/#1 (gluten, dairy, corn, soy, egg,
nuts, yeast, citrus, berries) I knew I couldn't do that whole list while
preg. Since #1 was celiac, gluten was out, and since dairy was what seemed
to precipitate everything else, I dropped it, too. I ate everything else
but emphasized variety and whole foods and not bingeing on any one thing.

#2 was a happy baby being gluten/dairy free for 14mo, and then I was able to
eat freely and continued to nurse her until she turned 6.

I have no idea if it was truly necessary, but my poor first baby was such a
mess that I considered it totally worthwhile as insurance.

Btw, every 90 days I took a day off the elimination and she never
complained. It was just enough to save my sanity.
