I had this happen to me and my daughter. She was born the end of November, 38 weeks, spontaneous vaginal homebirth. I am also an IBCLC.

She had plenty of wet diapers, appropriate amount of poops. She lost 11% of birthweight by 3 days of age, no gain from that low point for 5 days.

I thought she had a posterior TT , midwives disagreed, took me a while in my post partum fog to assert myself to get the referral to get it clipped.

I pumped and exclusively bottle fed from day 7-14 (while offering the breast as a pacifier). With her tongue tie she was unable to generate enough suction to use SNS.

Breastfed immediately after clip no problem.

From birth until clipping she looked like she was feeding, probably mostly just my letdown in retrospect.
