The National Alliance for Breastfeeding Advocacy (NABA) has some good news
(for a change)!!!
1. The National Breastfeeding Leadership Roundtable facilitated by NABA, met
last week in Orlando. Twenty-seven representatives from national health
organizations met for a day and a half, arriving at consensus on a number of
important breastfeeding issues.

Good news to be shared is first and foremost that the Baby Friendly Hospital
Initiative is alive and well in the US. Baby Friendly USA is transitioning
from Wellstart International to the eventual new 501(c)3 organization which
will be formed to administer it. During this transitional time questions will
be answered and materials will be sent out by the Healthy Children 2000
Project. Please direct calls to 508 888-8044 AFTER FEBRUARY 1! This is the
temporary stop on the way to an independent baby friendly entity.

A new BFHI web site is being constructed and will be ready to access after
February 1. Its address is www.aboutus.com/a100/BFUSA

2. As one of many outcomes from the WABA breastfeeding forum in Thailand last
month there will also be a new World Breastfeeding Week web page available
after February1 at the following address: www.aboutus.com/a100/wbw

3. Speaking of new web pages, NABA has its web page up and running. Come
