It was good to read the updated posting form Jenni James, and to learn
that allergy testing has now been done.
While not answering the question Jenni posted, I'd like to add some
comments. As someone w wheat, soy, other grain (except rice), beef,
potatoes (the list goes on....), I can appreciate that the mother feels
very restricted in her diet. That's a natural first reaction. I've
found it helpful to look at it from a positive angle - not what can't be
eaten, but what CAN. What a difference that change in mindset can make!
It may be possible for her to eat across a range of foods by trying
some foods not usually eaten by the family. There are some great
vegetables out there, including Chinese greens, and rice comes in
various forms, e.g. noodles (various shapes), rice cakes, rice puff
breakfast cereal, as well as the usual grain rice. Perhaps a
dietitian/nutritionist can help with specific ideas for this mother so
that she can balance her diet - and not ingest food items harmful her
her baby.
It looks as if you are doing a great job out there, Jenni.
    Regards,
        Virginia
