Nipples...okay, I have this friend who asked me to take a look at her
nipples 3 weeks post-breast reduction surgery. Upon examining her two days
before, the surgeon said "oh...I don't think that one's going to make it."
Well, I can see why. One nipple is pink and repositioned well, but the
other is black with blood. Anyone think Lansinoh or Breastmilk would help
this poor festering nipple? Right now she's on antibiotics and he doesn't
have her putting anything on it. I gave her the article on moist wound
healing by Sue Huml. It had been inverted and the woman said "That damn
nipple has given males a problem my whole life including while nursing."

On a related subject, a woman went to her primary care doc for a referral
for breast reduction and the doc asked her "Do you want to keep your
nipples?" She said, "Well, I never considered them disposable!" Hummm, we
both guessed that some women who have this surgery opt not to keep their
nipples. I hadn't heard of it either...any of you? I couldn't imagine my
body without nipples given that they are healthy and functioning. This
woman did not have breast cancer either. Chris
