Hi Netters,
I know that Olive Oil is being more commonly used by LCs for sore, dry
nipples and also placed around the areola to assist when pumping to ease
the skin into the flange of the pump. Only a couple people responded when
I inquired about the use with sore nipples. Anyone using Olive Oil for
prevention or management of BF problems or for other BF related things??
Please e-mail me at [log in to unmask] and let me know what you are
using it for, any problems, allergies, etc. I know that Olive Oil has been
around for centuries and I have never heard or read any side effects of it
to mother or baby. Any dietitions or dermatologists on lactnet?? What do
you think?
I was reading one of my newsletters last night and WOW. I can purchase
from Na______ Pr______ Colostrum, 90 capsules that "Consuming colostrum
helps newborn mammals develop immunities. Colostrum comes from bovine
sources". Does mother take this?? or do you put it on the BF mothers
nipples or drop it in formula? Crazy!!!! I have heard about it, but never
got to actually read and see it. Makes me real sick and nervous. What
next??? Have a good day all.
