Dear Lactnetters - I am sure you have all run into babies who sound like
they need oiling when they breastfeed. Creaky sounds as they swallow -
or -one or two swallows without noise then creaking and then breathe. I was
wondering if anyone can explain this. This time it is accompanying a
chomping baby who is causing grief to his mother's nipples. Is it in itself
a problem (creaking sounds)- or just when it accompanies an obvious
problem. Thank you - I am NOMAIL at the moment so please Cc any replies to
me. I cannot stay online long enough to do a search but I am not sure I
would know what to search for. I am currently in Saugerties, NY and would
appreciate hearing from any LC's nearby contacting me. Thank you again, Toby
Gish RN, IBCLC (Haifa, Israel - currently visiting in the States)
