Hi Lactnetters,

A mother who attends my breastfeeding support group called to ask if taking
4000 mg a day of vitamin C for a few days was OK (she has a cold and sounded
absolutely miserable). Baby is seven months old and is nursing several times
a day and at night due to teething, also eating some solid foods. 4000 mg
seemed a lot to me. Does anyone know what effect megadoses would have on the
baby, and what amount might be OK.

Thanks for any input.
