Dear Lactnet Ladies:

Hi! My name is Socorro Caanen and I am a LLLL. I am posting a question from
a co-leader and IBCLC who does not have access to this wonderfull resource of
LACTNET.
Her name is Margie Forrest. Margie just saw a mom whose nipples have been
distroyed by baby's suck. At the beguinning baby gained weight but now has
not gained anymore and mothers nipples continued to be in bad shape. Margie
tried the suggestions listed in her sources but it has not helped. She tried
adjusting positioning baby and mom to no avail. Part of the problem is that
baby won't put is toungue forward when is suckling at breast. Margie noticed
that baby's cheeks dimple when he is at breast, a sign that babys tongue is
not forward. She is running out of ideas for things to try and asked me to
post this situation on the Lactnet for your expertise on other things she
might try. She tried all suggestions listed on the BAB. Last suggestions was
to ask a LC that may have had experience working with similar situation.

Thank you for your help.
