I completely agree with you Jane. I have had many talks with some of my nurses on the ward when they tell me 'i know the baby is eating because i can hear swallowing sounds'. Some babies are loud and i can place a gloved finger in their mouth and see great mouth movement, pauses between sucking and hearing loud swallowing noises when there is actually nothing coming from my gloved finger.
