Imagine if a society & government somewhere in the world actually recognized
the need for on-going lactation management as part of every child-bearing
woman's right.

Imagine that society as being just on the edge of adding Lactation
Consultants to the health care team for those women, modeled after how and
when a such women receive prenatal care.

Imagine that this was society in which the government paid for all such
health care, and that all pregnant women would receive individual care from
one IBCLC of her choice from the time she was about 7 or 8 months pregnant
until weaning.

Imagine that YOU had a role in making this happen, but you needed a few more
documents, articles, charts, facts and figures before the authorities would
sign on the dotted line.

What would you use to make your case?

Why am I asking?

The province I live in (British Columbia) is currently conducting what they
call "A Conversation on Health", in which they are holding meetings for the
professional health care sector and other meetings for private citizens to
share their ideas, concerns, questions, etc. on the state of health care in
the province. I have been invited to attend the meeting in my community for
health care professionals. I know a lot of the content is going to centre
around issues such as surgery wait lists, shortages of doctors, poor
coverage for alternative therapies, etc., and I expect to only have a few
minutes in which to stand and say my piece.

But, I do want to take advantage of this opportunity, even it's is just to
plant a seed.

Do you have anything I can use? Email privately, or on the list if you
think others would benefit.

Blessings!
