Dear Jack, I thought it was a rhetorical q.  About 10 years ago I worked
with a mom who almost bled out from a nicked artery.  Rec'd 26 pints of
blood.  We talked about her plans to BF and the  issues with receiving so
much blood (late 1980's), she really wanted to BF because delivery
experience had ended up so horrific.  So she pumped in ICU and eventually
BF baby.  She said if she got HIV  and the baby got it, then so  be it.  I
thought she was courageous, I don't know if I could have made that sort of
decision, but it was her baby.  Today her baby would be taken away from
