I brfed 3 babies long term. Baby #2 developed dental caries very soon after
she developed teeth! <g> We had the restorative work done, under general
anesthesia when she was about 2 1/2 (a *most* unpleasant experience). She is
now 17 and hasn't had *one* cavity since. Interestingly, I had a major virus
during the first trimester of pregnancy with her. Further, she's my
high-need as well as allergic kid (& I'm sure could have a DX of ADHD. Though
the dentist urged me to wean immediately, I, frankly, credit the long-term
brfeeding not with causing her problem--in light of several other
possibilities--, but rather with giving her such great teeth in the long
term. Both other babies grew up to have great teeth (as does their brfed
mom, but not their bottlefed dad)--Nancy
