When? When mothers begin suing them documented medical malpractice leading to
permanent harm (cessation of breastfeeding). In no other area of medicine is
gross incompetence tolerated as it is in human lactation, a recognized
specialty. Helath care providers need to be held accountable for their actions
with regard to breastfeeding advice, treatment, and lack of knowledge. Until
they are, there will never be any large-scale changes.
