<< change to a hospital grade pump (Lact-E, Classic, or Symphony)>>

I am just curious, I believe the original poster said that her daughter is
using an Elite rental pump, and I have seen a number of responses indicating
that she should be using a hospital grade rental pump. I was under the
impression that the Elite WAS a hospital grade rental pump. Is this just a
typo (where people did nto see that she said she was using a hospital grade
pump already), or do some of you really feel that the Elite is not hospital
grade?

Forgive my ignorance on this matter, I am a relatively new IBCLC, and the
private practice that I am part of rents the Elites as well as the Lact-E,
Classic and Symphony. It was explained to me by my mentor that the Elite is
considered hospital grade, hence my confusion! I do realize that the Lact-E
and Classic use a metal piston and that the suction curves and what not are
different for every pump; some women will have more luck with oone pump over
another...but I really am under the impression that they are ALL considered
hospital grade, including the Elite.

Thanks for your time.
