Hi all,

Since the sugar in br. milk is lactose, it is very rare for a baby to be
lactose intolerant. If there is foremilk overload you can see it as
described as Catherine Genna said. However, be careful about putting the
lactaid on the nipples - I had one mom who found that after a while, the
lactaid really got to her and she had burning. Putting one drop in the
baby's mouth seems to work just as well. Also, if mom is on antibiotics
there can be a temporary problem as the antibiotics can make the gut more
permeable, and the baby may fuss more with bf.

Kathleen Bruce, as I recall, it was you, the Vermonter who got me, the
Illinoisian, to join Lactnet. So, your tentacles are longer.... and
longer.... :)
