Alice, I cannot make any sense of this. As Dr. Newman always says it is
not his decision if she wants to take a risk ( if there even *is* a risk of
miscarrying) nor is it any of his business to decide when and for how long
she weans. I am on an egroups list for those who deal with infertility and
practice attachment parenting. Currently there are three women in the IVF
process while breastfeeding -- one has a 2 year old and the other two have
one-yr olds. We also have several women on injectible drugs while bfg and
one who tried and rejected Clomid. The RE's (Reproductive endocrinologists)
attitudes toward the breastfeeding component have varied along the same
lines as we find with other HCP's --some are appalled, some very wary and
some could care less.

She needs to find a new doc. and save her precious embryo. If there is a
problem with that I would think it is a legal issue -- isn't it her embryo
and her right to change docs since harvesting it?

I agree wholeheartedly with whomever posted that if she weans she will have
two losses to mourn if the IVF fails. please contact me if she would like
more info on the yahoogroup or infertility references.

Her embryo will be destroyed in December (3 yr. limit). Doctor will
not
consider in vitro until toddler has been weaned for 3 months. Toddler is in
no hurry to wean and mother has mixed feelings. She is torn between weaning
and using the embryo
