Julie, sorry you had such a rough experience.  I believe (Rachel correct me
if I'm wrong) that the baby only needs to nuzzle at the breast, not even
latch on! that stimulates the release of oxytocin.  I was fascinated about
what I read from Rachel about mother/baby separation leading to more
hemorrhage.  We just don't know how much we tamper with the grand plan when
