Since some of my Lactnet digests end up in my junk folder, forgive this possible repeat. A friend gave me the March '09 issue of "O, The Oprah Magazine" with one of the cover stories, "Love you can bank on: One woman's mission to save babies." It is a positive human interest story of a mother who birthed triplets, all of whom eventually died, but she continued to pump. There is a corresponding story called "Benefit Denied" in which the HMBANA is presented in a very positive light. (Disclaimer: I am not promoting the magazine or the celebrity behind it.)

In a "downer" world, this is an "upper" story in a mainstream magazine sold in the US and one readily available in many physician offices where people may actually read it while waiting their turn to be seen.

Warmly,
Rebecca DeYoung-Daniels, MBA, RD, LD, IBCLC, RLC and MOM to 5 in KS, USA
