Hi,
I've been enjoying all the opinions in this thread, and would like to
play devil's advocate for a minute and ask:

In the situation where a newborn has lost a lot of weight and seems too
weak/sleepy to nurse, and for some reason EBM is not available, the
standard practice, in this area anyway, seems to be ABM. Could glucose
water be considered a viable option in this short-term situation? Are
there reasons to prefer ABM or to prefer rehydration therapy? I'm not
advocating one over the other, just curious enough to risk showing my
ignorance by asking your opinions.
