Dear Folks:
Please remember DeCarvalho, Yamouchi and Yamanouchi, and Varimo when
looking for studies about bf and jaundice. All three of these show a
correlation between early feeding frequency and lowered bilirubin levels.
Babies who fed more than 25 times in the first 3 days didn't develop high
bilirubin levels. Only way for babies to do that is to be in the restaurant
full-time, snuggle in bed with mom (Suzanne Colson RM, PhD (cand) calls this
'biologic nurturing').
     Warmly,
Nikki Lee RN, MSN, Mother of 2, IBCLC, CIMI, CCE, craniosacral therapy
