There is a world of difference between those two books. They are quite
complimentary to one another but I feel that the BF&HL is more of a
textbook and I KNOW BAB is a "guide." I was fortunate to be part of a
group that brainstormed about the original purpose of the BAB and it is
a compliation of facts based on studies. It was designed as a quick
reference and "fact finder" for breastfeeding counselors. Bf & HL is by
Auerbach and Riordan, is available from the La Leche League catalog as
well as many other places. It is recommended reading for the IBCLC exam.
