My email to the AAPD re their statements (can't wait to talk to my
daughter's dentist - he was delighted she was still breastfeeding at age 2):

It was most disturbing to read the AAPD recommendations on breastfeeding
i.e., weaning by 12 months and not breastfeeding to sleep. These
recommendations are in conflict with both current research and the
WHO/UNICEF worldwide baby friendly initiative. I would be most
interested in solid research that supports the AAPD recommendation.
