Subject: scale model breast suggestions

Good morning. I am working on opening a private practice and was looking for suggestions for a scale and model breast? do you find it necessary to spend over $1000 on a scale or will the cheaper ones work well as well? specifice models to consider? specific features that are a mist have? any suggestions for model breast? thank you

Hadassah,
I have a Seca model 334. It only goes to 0.5 ounces, which is not sensitive enough. Also, I've had to send it in to be calibrated twice (no charge), and I'm not that busy, so I don't know why the scale lost its calibration.
At the same time, I don't know that it would've been worth it to spend $1800 on a scale that goes to 0.1 or 0.2 ounces. That's a lot of money! However, I had to borrow a Medela scale (while the Seca was being calibrated) that measured to .1 or .2 ounces, and it was much more informative & useful.
It's a tough call. If you can afford the expensive one with more accurate measurements, that would be better. One possibility is to buy the cheaper one & upgrade later.
