I went to my local library this morning and decided to check and see if
they had Children of the Dreamtime. I was so suprised to find it. It was
republished in 1989 by Penguin and it was in the childrens section of the
library. As Kathy said it has quite a few pictures of young children and
babies breastfeeding. It also has picture of young girls playing with clay
"dolls" Each child also has clay breasts suspended on their chest by string
around her neck in order to feed her baby!!!! I have always found the
issue of baby dolls coming complete with baby bottle problematic but
couldn't think of a more appropriate accessory. Of course baby dolls should
come with pretend breasts!!!!

On a side note has anyone ever noted the irony in shopping centres of
private "baby feeding rooms" often very nice with comfortable chairs and
curtains for discretion being deliniated by a baby bottle. These rooms are
obviously for breastfeeding mums, would not a breast be a more appropriate
symbol ;>
