Yay, RD-IBCLCs  unite!!  It is so great to see other RDs posting.  

IgG mediated gut responses are very real, though my experience is that docs 
often ignore their existence.   I just want to add to the discussion for moms to 
really look at all foods they are eating.  Many non-dairy, non-soy foods they 
may feel are "safe" from allergens are laced with additives made from dairy and 
soy.   FAAN is a great site to refer moms to to see lists of many hidden 
sources of allergens.   Sometimes it may be useful to have the mom see an RD 
experienced with allergies.  The mother's diets are a hassle but so important to 
keep the babies nursing!!  Formula doesn't help, though  Neocate usually is 
tolerable.
