Hi, I need advice. I searched the archives, which gave me general
encouragement, but I need more specific suggestions -- helping a mother
who had breast reduction surgery 10 years ago and was separated from her
baby for 3 days so at one week, its difficult to know if the problem is
due to her breasts not getting enough stimulation or due to the breast
reduction surgery. She can hand express drops of milk and uses the
bicycle pump and can get a bit more (don't ask why that pump). I tried
to help her to use a SNS today and it didn't go well. I don't have
experience helping moms with the SNS and would like to know if there are
some tips to encourage her to keep using it. Her baby is willing to
suck at the breast and does it ok even after she has had formula from a
bottle, but she doesn't do it very long. Please I'd like suggestions
how to help her, e-mail me privately. <[log in to unmask]>
Thanks very much. Donna Ron, M.H.A., IBCLC, LLL
