We are now debating - not a mother's rights to have her exclusively
breastfed baby with her at all times, regardless of circumstances - but
learning and working styles. As in ANY industry, including education, the
only way to address the masses is by determining the average need and
meeting it. Though we all have a unique set of personality, learning style,
working style, and communication style, it goes without saying that
studying, test-taking, and working happen best for the MAJORITY in a quiet
and undisturbed environment. Were it not so, exams would not be delivered
in the universal way they are.

Should special arrangements be made for individuals having special
circumstances? Of course. Should those special arrangements affect the
majority? Of course not.

The upset exam candidate can help the IBLCE make changes for exclusively
breastfeeding dyads by lodging a formal complaint, and making suggestions as
to how she - and future dyads - can be accommodated. I hope she does indeed
do so.

(who, incidentally, is tactile sensitive and easily over-stimulated and has
been known to ask home-visit clients to kindly turn off their T.V. so that
she can focus on what they are saying; and, who simply takes more time
during consultations where toddlers or older children are present, so that
parenting can happen as necessary throughout the consultation)
