Our NICU has previously used  oral care  swabs for all preemies who are on
the vent.  This product (Biotene)  is no longer available.  This product
came in a kit that contained 2 sponges on a stick with gel that we swabbed
the  oral civility and ventilator tube.   The Neonatologist is asking for "
meta analysis and evidenced based information" regarding the use of
colostrum for these babies as "oral care".
