Good point!  I also tell mothers something similar when I refer them to an
LC and they say, "But how much will it cost?"  "Her assistance should help
you continue to breastfeed, you may only need one visit with phone
follow-up, and one visit will cost less than two weeks of formula."  Mothers
in Canada are used to 'free' (socialized) medical care, so this is a
cultural barrier we have to work around (although some extended health care
plans may pay for LC care).
