Hi Lactnetters!

I have been busy with consultations and translations (Let's face it. It is
the translation part of my work that permits me to do home visits and still
be an LC). I have not been able to participate in the talks on Lactnet. It
is hard enough just keeping track on the digests.

I will be giving a conference on BF and the teenage mother at the June
INFACT conference in Toronto. Would anyone out there have any references
pertaining to Canada??? I need help.

For Julie:

Yes, I beleive it is the thyroid problems of this mom that are causing the
decrease in production. I have known many mothers who breastfed while taking
Synthroid. They all could do it, but they needed ajustments in the dosage as
the baby grew and drank more and more milk. They also need ajustments when
the baby starts to wean. One mother I had as a client knew the exact time
she needed an increase in her dosage by her emotional state. She would start
to feel fidgety, and she felt a great need to escape her daily routine
(going out...ect) Although we all go through that, she felt it so strong it
scared her. She was even afraid she would just leave her baby alone and
go...Although she never did it.

Hope this helps!
