While waiting for my chiropracter I found a funny article in the magazine
"Health" Oct 96 entitled "The Peekaboo Puzzle" subtitled "Why are breasts
okay but nipples taboo". That sums up the article - the author found a box
of Nippless (essentially bandaids to keep your headlights from showing).
She goes on to wonder why you can't see nipples on anyone - even the barely
clad models on the cover of magazines - not even Barbie. She called the
Barbie PR people and they said Barbie has breasts to make her clothes fit
and that nipples weren't necessary.

The author comments "What's the big tee-hee deal about nipples? They're
breastfeeding equipment, for God's sake, the straw on mother's milk shake.
I had always assumed that the reason they stand up when they're touched is
to make it easier for babies to suckle."

The author called a dermatologist at a university for information on nipple
erection. In the course of explaining, HE says "all fetuses are unisex at
the start, that is to say, with the same basic equipment. Sex hormones
determine whether the equipment gets upgraded or not. The clitoris is
basically a vestigal penis" said Grekin, and let us hope his (Grekin's)
number is unlisted.

At this point my chiropracter is staring at me wondering if I need a bigger
adjustment (mental) than he thought as I was ROFLOL. I highly recommend
tracking this article down. A nice laugh for the day. I love the straw on
mother's milk shake part.
