Calcium is used with some success for PMS, another presumed
menstrual/hormonal disorder, as is progesterone (in natural form. Although
not all studies find progesterone efficacious, it certainly has been helpful
to some patients).

So it makes some sense that calcium could help (and certainly is not
harmful), and that progesterone imbalances before menses could affect
breastmilk supply.

With respect to form of calcium though, most osteoporosis literature at least
still recommends any form, inc calcium carbonate. Can you give me more info
about specifically not using CaCO3?
