I recall some work that pointed out that the tobacco plant tended to
absorb more of one of the radioactive elements. When a packet of
cigarettes was consumed it was similar to a chest Xray in dose.
Still the benefits of breastfeeding - particularly for immunosupport
- must outweigh the disadvantages.

When the mother sleeps, if she sleeps with the baby, baby is further
exposed to the residual radiation. Sorry but I can't find the reference.
I think it was Astatine?
