I know it's been discussed here about low levels of zinc being cause for poor
appetite in toddlers, but how about for young baby/newborn? Baby in question
is slowly gaining after many weeks of poor gain, some wt loss after inital
gain and really often seems disinterested in eating. Has been tested for
metabolic disorders and such but I wonder if zinc deficiency could be
considered here. Baby is not anemic, either, tho very pale. She's about 11
wks now and using SNS at breast with continued ABM supplementation; mom's
diet is being looked into and off dairy for almost 2 wks. Mostly curious
about zinc... thanks.
