I never thought that the infrequency of some breastfed babies' stools
was due to efficient absorption of nutrients. Because when they finally
went, they filled their sleepers right up to the neck. So instead of
several small stools a day, the baby would have one huge one. Someone
could start measuring amounts if they would like, but it is likely that
the volumes of stool over a week were pretty much the same.

This information is interesting and may mean that there is something in
the early milk which acts as a purgative which disappears after a few
weeks and in some babies this results in infrequent stools.

Some research to be done here.
