Hello friends,
We are seeking IBCLCs, breastfeeding specialists and educators and interested health care providers to participate in MIT's upcoming Hackathon.
You can read about last spring's MIT Breastpump Hackathon kick off event here:
https://medium.com/@medialab/the-media-lab-make-the-breast-pump-not-suck-hackathon-513fad8bc451

The group is gearing up for a two day marathon later this month and is getting great interest from the press - wonderful to increase awareness of breastfeeding and breastmilk (http://www.bostonmagazine.com/health/blog/2014/09/10/mit-hosting-breast-pump-hackathon/ )- there are currently many engineers and parents/testers registered to attend, but we need more IBCLCs, breastfeeding experts and educators and health care providers to attend. If this interests you or those you know, please pass the info along.

The "Make the Breast Pump Not Suck" Hackathon
Creating Innovation in Maternal and Global Health

When: Saturday, September 20 & Sunday, September 21, 10am-6pm
Where: MIT Media Lab, Cambridge MA
Win! World-class judges will be giving cash prizes to the best ideas
Register Now: http://bit.ly/makethebreastpumpnotsuck
Registration is free but space is limited

MIT students will work together with parents, medical professionals, designers, policymakers and engineers to radically redesign the breast pump, as well as explore other innovations in maternal and pediatric health to improve the lives of families and children around the globe.

*Please note, The breast pump is the rallying cry for the event because it is a symbol of a technology that could be vastly improved in order to save lives, save money and lead to healthier and happier families, one of the focal interests of the MIT group, Innovations and Maternal Health. More info at the links above.
