This is a brief explanation of Google Helpouts, Currently, only USLCA IBCLCs are providing lactation services thru Google.

Google Helpouts is a new way to connect people who need help with people who can give help -- teachers, counselors, doctors, lactation consultants, home repair experts, personal trainers, hobby enthusiasts, and more -- over live video! Because you are a USLCA IBCLC member, Google believes you have the expertise to help mothers all over the U.S., and we want you to be among the first to participate when the product goes live.

By joining Helpouts, you'll be able to earn extra money sharing your skills and knowledge with the world on a schedule that's convenient for you.

Please email [log in to unmask] and Google will email you a unique, non-transferable invitation code to get early access to helpouts.google.com, where you'll be able to learn more about the community Google is building. If you're interested in participating when it launches, you can create a listing that explains the kind of help you can offer and why you're qualified to give it. Once Google approves your listing and Helpouts goes live, you'll be able to start helping others, while making money at the same time.

There are several people using tele-consults for lactation services. I suggest that you read the article from JHL last November, there was a round table discussion on tele-lactation consults.
If you have other questions email USLCA.
