kinda on this same topic. I had helped a mom with a premature baby keep
pumping for 3 months; and once the baby had come home from the nicu, to get
to the breast. This was one that I really wish I had a picture for! This
baby's mouth was still very small and mom's breasts were not only fairly
large but she also had the largest nipples I had ever seen. This baby
really had no problem fitting moms nipples into her mouth. Like I said it
would have made a great picture.

Anyway back to the subject. This mom was admitted into the hospital a little
over a week later due to asthmatic problems. While she was unconscicous
they put sergical tape in a X formation over her nipples because they were
leaking milk. She found it insulting and I was furious for her (although
controlled). I still can't get over it.

This hospital also only had one Ameda Egnell pump. The purely yours
electric. They didn't have anyone currently using it but they won't let it
leave the nursery floor for her to use. They would only give her a manual.
Her dr. just told her to stop bfing due to the meds. I checked out all the
meds in Hale and they were all safe. Even after she showed him photocopies
from Hale he still advised her against saving her milk or bfing again when
she gets back with her newborn.....but that's all another story.
