I did have a mom with a similar nipple. She had quite a bit of trouble latching her second baby on that side. She did manage with time to get her on.  Both nipples were compressed together to get it (them) into her mouth.

With her first baby, she never had any trouble from the beginning. So, it certainly does depend on the baby and its development.
